On February 9th, WP09 (ethics of gene transfer for haemophilia) conducted a validation meeting. WP09 is currently working on a qualitative interview study in which they collect stakeholders’ morally reasoned opinions on gene transfer for haemophilia.

During the validation meeting, the preliminary results were presented to experts from the field, including patient representatives, physicians and nurses affiliated with various treatment centres throughout the Netherlands. All participants were asked to reflect on the findings and invited to discuss whether they recognized the identified topics and whether some issues were still missing from the study.

Based on the insights from this meeting, the researchers in WP09 have identified the themes on which they have reached saturation and the themes which require further investigation. The last few interviews will be used to gain more insight in the last open issues.
